Day 06: Mysore – Hassan

After leisurely breakfast leave for Hassan. On arrival transfer to the hotel. After relaxation drive to Halebid, about 32 km away from Hassan.Halebid is one of Karnataka’s open secrets. There’s nothing to do in Halebid except walk around the temples, admire the carvings, and breathe deeply. The main attraction is the Hoysaleswara Temple, which actually comprises two temples joined by a single platform. The second temple is the Shantaleswara Temple. Together they took roughly 100 years to build and are still incomplete. Overnight at Hassan.

Day 07: Hassan – Hampi

After breakfast checkout the hotel and drive to Hampi. The ruined city of Vijayanagar (the City of Victory)-also known as Hampi.Hampi is a historical site scattered with ruins and excavations – a strange landscape suffused by silence and austerity. As the capital of the Hindu kingdom of Vijayanagara, which reached its zenith under the rule of Krishnadeva Raya between 1509 and 1529,Hampi was a beautiful city in its prime. By evening we will enter the vicinity of Hampi, one sees massive boulders in the largely rocky landscape, balanced on or against others in seemingly precarious positions. Overnight at Hampi.

Day 08: Hampi

Morning sightseeing tour of Hampi, one of the most ruined cities of India. Although spread over 26 Sq.kms, the ruins of Vijayanagar are mostly concentrated in two distinct groups: the first lies in and around Hampi Bazaar and the nearby riverside area, encompassing the city’s most sacred enclave of temples and ghats; the second centers on the royal enclosure-3 km south of the river, just northwest of Kamalapuram village-which holds the remains of palaces, pavilions, elephant stables, guard houses and temples. Be prepared for some amount of walking. Hiring a cycle is the ideal way to visit some of the attractions listed below.

The state capital, Hyderabad, although run-down in parts, is an undoubtedly atmospheric city dating from the late sixteenth century. Its endless bazaars, eclectic Salar Jung museum and the mighty Golconda Fort nearby make it an enticing place to spend a day or two. Outlying areas are home to the modern hi-tech company offices. By contrast, the adjacent twin city of Secunderabad excels only in characterlessness.A melting pot of Muslim and Hindu cultures, the capital of Andhra Pradesh comprises the twin cities of Hyderabad and Secunderabad, with a combines population of around six million.
